American ex-pat Judith Roberts moved to Mexico in the 1980’s to pursue her passion for fashion design. Her extraordinary, "Coleccion" high-end coats and jackets made her an international name, many of them exhibited to wide acclaim in Paris. This piece is the best one I've ever seen, an incredible example of fiber art to wear. Features black cotton velvet, heavily appliqued in vivid red + pink satin snake plant motifs. Gorgeous hand embroidered embellishments throughout. Draped fit with open front and high side slits. Quilted trims finish all edges. Fully lined. Made in Mexico.
