Insanely gorgeous vintage early 1940's gown by Ceil Chapman. A rare find, this "Original Chapman Design" label only endured for 3-4 years before switching to the black + white label. A stunning 1940's silhouette with strong shoulders, fitted waist and ultra fluid, full maxi length skirt. Welt pockets built into front of skirt. The color of the lamé is a muted sapphire blue that appears glittering gold in places where the light hits it. Long sleeves are tapered into a fitted cuff with a row of five covered button and loop closures. Side metal "Talon" zip closure and lining in waist. An epic piece for parties and events.
